South Cerney Engineering offers a wide range of engineering services to owners of veteran, vintage, classic and historical automobiles.
The company was initially set up to provide its sister company, Ashton Keynes Vintage Restorations, with its engine refurbishment and engineering requirements – so since the 1970’s we have been entrusted with the engine work for some of the oldest, rarest and most exotic of vehicles.
Within our extensive machine shop we have facilities for cylinder block reboring and linering, crankshaft regrinding, and cylinder head machining including fitting hardened valve seat inserts.
For the older engines we can manufacture and white metal new main and conrod bearings. We also have the capacity to manufacture many of those items which are either hard to find or obsolete.
Although much of our work is for restoration companies, we are always happy to discuss projects with owners who wish to undertake the restoration themselves. We’re always prepared to work on any kind of engine, from vintage to modern. The combined knowledge and expertise of our team – amounting to over 250 years – ensures that we’re comfortable working with any form of internal combustion engine.
